About the Book
Arborium is a collection of 18 graphics of leaves from trees of the temperate climate zone. Each leaf is accompanied by a short text describing its visual and artistic form, as well as a botanical distribution map.
The book is not only a visual celebration, but also conveys a sense of the regenerative forces of nature, inviting reflection and restoration.

…the power of leaves
…long ago, when our planet was still very young, trees began to populate the landmasses of the Earth. With the power of their leaves, they transformed a barren rock in space into a green paradise.

How did this book come about?
It began with a walk, during which I noticed that I could only name a few tree species, which I found quite unfortunate.
Out of curiosity, I traced a leaf of a chestnut tree using a graphics program. Its shape fascinated me so much that I went on to draw more leaves. Over time, I came to recognize many more trees. I also had the feeling that this knowledge greatly enriched my life. That is when the idea emerged to publish a collection in book form.

Were the images created using AI?
No, all graphics were created without the use of artificial intelligence. Each leaf was photographed during a walk and then manually traced on a computer.
The creation of a single graphic takes approximately one to two weeks of full-time work (8 hours per day). The images were created between 2020 and 2025.
Can I use the images in my curriculum / work?
Yes, absolutely! The essence of Arborium is to raise awareness of the diversity and beauty of trees. There is a free A4 PDF available that may be used in schools and other institutions.
I would be happy to hear about your project!
